I applaud Charles Wilfong and the Farm Bureau for an objective full discussion of this subject. Land owners should get all the facts before doing anything. All that glitters is not gold. |

I see that the County Commission has a decision to make with regard to an oil and gas lease proposal for East Fork Industrial Park on the agenda for 11 AM on Tuesday. That will be interesting. |

Things to consider in oil and gas leases: The size of the drilling site can be large as much as five acres. The drilling can be 24 hrs a day and cause noise and light pollution. Eminent domain can be used for pipe line transmission. Gas can be stored on your property but recovered elsewhere. Drilling may cause water problems. |
