Pocahontas Residents Express Concerns on New Sites for WWTP

In this article, "Pocahontas Residents Express Concerns on New Sites for Wastewater Treatment FacilityMonday April 21, 2008 By Cathy Grimes, Staff Writer"
James Carpenter admitted that he had been in meetings with the PSD and SnowShoe about the land SnowShoe had purchased.
Was this the real reason he came out as against eminent domain ?
Seems as tho he is still playing politics. Excellant question Tom !
So the CC president, the PSD and SnowShoe the 3 main drivers of this regional WWTP from get go had a secret meeting to try to back door the WWTP. They were and are still planning to run that pipeline as before. And this time even further ! Snowshoe probably can build whatever they want to build on their onw land. So the problem has been narrowed to the pipeline and who controls the utility if SnowShoe decides to build the WWTP on their land.

Re: Pocahontas Residents Express Concerns on New Sites for WWTP

Let Snowshoe' executives, Scott Millican, the PSD and James Carpenter know that Slatyfork residents are on to their game. A very serious game. One that will be not be played out the way that it has been, but by the rules. Who put a "developer" on the PSD ? Who but developers are behind the push for a regional waste water treatment plant? Not the majority of residents of Slatyfork. No matter how many representatives for the developments in Slatyfork say that they " represent the majority of the people that they have spoken to" , they can not speak for all of the residents until they have personally contacted them and received a written consent to speak for them. To this day this has NOT been done!
Snowshoe should be responsible for their own problems now! When that has been taken care of then and only then should Pocahontas County consider the task taking over Snowshoe's waste water treatment plant. Then talk of a regional plant should take place. Not before.
