Independents Need To Ask!!
Unfortunately, the WV Secretary of State has decided not to inform registered independents that they can choose a Democratic or Republican ballot if desired. The independent ballot has no choice for president: West Virginia’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Policy for Voters DF |

professor,
In terms of a Primary, the Board of Education race is the only one where write in votes can be counted (and even then only when that candidate files as an official write in candidate.) |

Re: Independents Need To Ask!!
And Republicans if you would like to cross over so you can vote in a Presidential candidate race that hasn't been decided i.e. Hussein / Hillary you can ask for that democrat ballot too. But if there are some important Republican issues on the ballot do not do that as you can only request one party ballot or the other. |

Re: Independents Need To Ask!!
Republicans cannot vote in the Democratic Primary and Democrats cannot vote in the GOP Primary. Independents can request either ballot. |
