Challenge on Drugs
In January in an effort to get a stepping stone placed in an ever rising flood of drug abuse, I took a drug test at the Health Department; $12.50. Neither of my fellow Commissioners have yet joined me. You are familiar with "challenges" for charity donations and the like, so I propose to my readers a similar challenge against drug use. Go to the Health Department and get tested and post your name here. What do you think of this idea? Again, its a way of stepping up and just saying "drugs are not for me". |

Re: Challenge on Drugs
It would be nice if you could get some coupons from area businesses for dicounts on food, gas, or other items to reward people who test clean. Maybe "Pocahontas Businesses promoting clean living" or something like that as a sales pitch. I own and operate a small flooring business "Jesse's Carpet" though I am located in Beverly, (Randolph county) I would still kick in a 10% or 15% discount coupon or something simular to Pocahontas county folks who could produce a clean test result. Something like that could help area businesses as well as encourage cleaner living. I have family in Pocahontas and hate to see the way drugs have taken over. Just a thought from a neighbor. |
